Του Νέου Χρόνου οι Υποσχέσεις!

Τώρα που ο νέος χρόνος ξεπρόβαλε στο φως,

ας είναι ο δρόμος όλων μας γλυκός και ανθηρός.

Με την υγεία συντροφιά, και χάρη στην καρδιά,

να είναι η κάθε μας στιγμή γεμάτη από χαρά.

 

Ελευθερία κι ειρήνη, στον τόπο μας να ‘ρθει,

και η κάθε προσδοκία μας τον δρόμο της να βρει.

Στους φίλους όλους εύχομαι χαρές και ευτυχία,

να φέρνει η μέρα η κάθε μια μεγάλη αισιοδοξία.

 

Να έχει η μέρα μας ορμή, τη δύναμη την πρώτη,

στου νέου χρόνου την αυγή, τη φωτεινή τη νιότη.

Με σκέψη αισιόδοξη και πνεύμα διαυγές,

ας τον προϋπαντήσουμε τον χρόνο με ευχές.

The New Year’s Promise

Now the New Year has entered with blossoms of light,

May your days be filled healthy and your spirits stay bright.

May the work of your hands bring a harvest of gold,

With a story of triumph and success to be told.

 

May the world find its peace as the seasons depart,

With a hope that is fresh and a joy in the heart.

To your home and your kin, may prosperity flow,

Through the warmth of the sun and the chill of the snow.

 

Look to every new dawn with a spirit as high

As the moment the midnight clock colored the sky.

With a positive thought and a vision so clear,

Carry forward the magic of starting the year!

    This is so beautiful. I love it. The imagery of blossoms of light is stunning. It perfectly captures the hope and promise of a New Year. Thank you for sharing

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair.
