Στην άμμο τα όνειρα

Καλοκαιριού απόγευμα στη παραλία,

και τον καλό της ανταμώνει η Αμαλία,

χέρι με χέρι περπατάνε την άμμο,

σιμά σταματούν και ξαπλώνουνε χάμω.

 

Το βραδάκι τους βρίσκει αγκαλιασμένους,

και το κύμα τραγουδά στους ρωτευμένους,

τ' άστρα ψηλά τον ουρανό φωτίζουν,

και των ερωτευμένων οι καρδιές ραγίζουν.

 

Κτυπάει δυνατά η μια για την άλλη,

είναι η χαρά κι ευτυχία τους μεγάλη,

γράφουν στην άμμο πως μαζί θα ζήσουν,

κι όλα τα όνειρα ποτέ δεν θα σβήσουν.

 

Δροσόσταλο το πρωινό τους βρίσκει να κοιμούνται,

ένα εδώ άλλον εκεί στην άμμο να κυλιούνται,

κι αφήσανε τα όνειρα τον όρκο που χαν πάρει,

να ρθεί το κύμα ορμητικό μαζί του να τα πάρει.

Our Summer Promise

Upon the shore where golden sands extend,

Our summer tale of passion has no end.

My dearest love, with eyes of ocean blue,

I walk this beach, my heart belonging just to you.

 

We lie embraced as twilight's shadows creep,

While gentle waves now sing us both to sleep.

The heavens glow with starlight soft and bright,

To witness all the splendor of this night.

 

Our loving hearts are beating strong and fast,

A joy we know that surely is to last.

We write our pledge upon the soft, damp ground,

A promise deep where all our dreams are found.

 

The morning dew now gently starts to fall,

We wake to hear the ocean's waking call.

The tide will rise and wash our words away,

But in our souls, the promise lives today.

Christmas Story!

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair. It moved like a steady pendulum, carrying her thoughts far away, beyond the seas and the mountains.
