Συνάντηση - Rendezvous 

Όμορφη που είναι η βραδιά

νοιώθω χαρά μες’ την καρδιά

Απόψε μίλησα με την Νικούλα

γλυκιά φωνή και τρυφερούλα

 

Φαίνεται ψυχή μαλαματένια

λουλούδι όμορφο, σαν γαρδένια

Γλυκό χαμόγελο έχει στα χείλη

 πολύ την θέλω να μου γίνει φίλη.

 

Αυτή είναι η ευχή μου, η αληθινή,

να γίνει φίλη μου, μια φίλη δυνατή.

Η καρδιά μου ανοίγει για εκείνη μόνο,

 Μου δίνει χαρά, μου φεύγει ο πόνος.

Rendezvous

The night is lovely, soft, and deep,

A joy my heart can hardly keep.

For I have spoken with Nikoula,

Her voice so sweet, a gentle trill.

 

Her soul, it seems, is spun with gold,

A story waiting to be told.

A flower fair, like a gardenia's grace,

With a sweet smile upon her face.

 

This is my wish, my hope so true,

That she will be my friend anew.

The world seems brighter just for you;

My happiness is born of you.

Christmas Story!

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair. It moved like a steady pendulum, carrying her thoughts far away, beyond the seas and the mountains. Her weary spirit abandoned her tired body and flew to foreign lands to find her only son, whom she had not seen...

Αφήστε το εγώ γιατί δεν είμαστε μόνοι - Leave the ego behind, for we are not alone

English Version Below ↆↆ Αφήστε το εγώ γιατί δεν είμαστε μόνοι! (Μεταμεσονύκτιες σκέψεις) Γεννιόμαστε φέροντας το «εγώ» ως σιωπηλό, αχώριστο προικιό στο διάβα της ύπαρξής μας. Βρισκόμαστε περιπλανώμενοι σε απέραντα ανθρώπ ι να πλήθη, κι όμως πορευόμαστε με τα μάτια της ψυχής ερμητικά κλειστά, ανήμποροι να αντικρίσουμε, να αφουγκραστούμε, να γευτούμε την ουσία του άλλου. Ζούμε με την πλάνη της απόλυτης μοναδικότητας, για να γευτούμε στο λυκόφως της ζωής την πιο παγωμένη, αληθινή μοναξιά. Μεγαλώνουμε διεκδικώντας την καταξίωση πάνω σε ξένα δεκανίκια, για να αναφωνήσουμε με αλαζονεία πως τα καταφέραμε όλα μόνοι. Και έπειτα, ψελλίζουμε παράπονα πως η μοίρα στάθηκε σκληρή, πως ποτέ κανείς δεν άπλωσε χέρι βοηθείας. Ανηφορίσαμε τα μονοπάτια της ζωής γκρεμίζοντας τους άλλους, μειώνοντας τις δικές τους αξίες για να υψώσουμε το δικό μας ανάστημα – αποδεικνύοντας το τίποτα στο ίδιο μας το είδωλο.
