12+1 Δίστιχα στην θεά του έρωτα!

Στην Κύπρον τ’ όμορφον νησί, της Αφροδίτης χώρα

όπου επαρπάταν η θεά, εξεφυτρώναν φκιόρα

 

Στον κόσμον η πιο όμορφη, ήτουν η Αφροδίτη

τζι’ εδώκαν της το όνομα, στον πιο λαμπρόν πλανήτη

 

Η Πούλια τζι’ ο Αυγερινός, τα δκυο λαμπρά τα άστρα

εν η θεά του έρωτα, ντυμένη μέσ’ τα άσπρα

 

τζι’εικά’ στην Πέτραν του Ρωμιού, πο’ φκειν η Αφροδίτη

ελούννετουν μια κορασιά, τζιαι πέλλανα στο δείν της

 

Επήρα την στο ιερόν, τζιει κάτω πούν τα Κούκλια

τζι’ αζούλεψεν της η θεά, γιατί ήτουν μια κούκλα

 

Στης Αφροδίτης τα λουτρά, μέσ’ την καρκιάν τ’ Ακάμα

εδώκαμεν τον λόον, μας να ζήσουμεν αντάμα

 

Στο ιερόν τ’ Απόλλωνα, που τον λαλούν Ιλάτην

εβάλα την στ’ αγκάλια μου, τζιαι πρωτοφίλησα την

 

Στην Αφροδίτην την θεάν, εκάμαμεντε τάμαν

μόνον αγάπες τζιαι χαρές, να έχουμεν αντάμα

 

Στης Αφροδίτης της τον ναόν, τζιαμέ στην Αμαθούνταν

εφίλουν την τζιαι βλέπαν μας, τα πλάσματα που’ ρκούνταν

 

Στης Αφροδίτης τον ναόν, πουν πόξω που το Δάλιν

επλάνεψεν τον Άδωνιν, με τα πολλά της κάλλη

 

Στης Αφροδίτης τον βωμόν, εκάμαμεν θυσίαν

μαζίν πάντα να ζήσουμεν, μ’ αγάπην τζι’ ευτυχίαν

 

Στης Αφροδίτης τον ναόν, πού’ σιεν στη Σαλαμίνα

έπαιρνα την τζιαι φίλουν την, δκυο τρεις φορές τον μήνα

 

Στην Ταμασόν έσιει ναόν, πουν για την Αφροδίτην

παίρνω την τζιαι φιλιούμαστε, τζιει κάτω κάθε Τρίτην

12+1 Couplets to the Goddess of Love

In Cyprus, the beautiful island, Aphrodite's bright land,

wherever the goddess stepped, flowers sprang up at command.

 

In all the world, the fairest was Aphrodite,

thus they gave her name to the brightest planet in its might.

 

Pleiades and the Morning Star, these two shining lights,

are the love goddess dressed in robes of purest whites.

 

At the Rock of Aphrodite, where fair Venus was born,

a girl was bathing, and my heart was swiftly overborne.

 

I took her to the temple of Aphrodite in Kouklia,

ahe goddess envied her, for she was beautiful as camellia.

 

At Aphrodite's baths, in the heart of the Akamas coast,

we gave our word to live together, loving the most.

 

At the sanctuary of Apollo, who is called Hylates,

I took her in my arms, marking the first of our sweet dates.

 

To the great goddess Aphrodite, we pledged a sacred vow,

to have only love and happiness starting now.

 

At the temple of Aphrodite, out in Amathus,

I was kissing her, and the people passing by stopped to watch us.

 

In the temple of Aphrodite, which is in Dali,

she charmed Adonis with a beauty that could never tally.

 

At the altar of Aphrodite, we made a deep sacrifice,

to live together forever in love and paradise.

 

In Tamassos, there stands a temple to the Divine,

I take her there every Tuesday, to make sure she stays mine.

 

In the temple of Aphrodite, which is in Salamis,

I took her to show her the true power of a kiss.

    Este , chipre es la isla de la Tierra radiante pprque es hermoso, como Afrodita era la diosa dorada e envidiada como una carmelia .y donde ahi 2 enamorados desean vivir un amor

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity.
