Τα Χελιδόνια!

Φεύγουν και φέτος τα χελιδόνια.

Μαζί τους παίρνουν και τα δικά μας χρόνια

Μακριά μας θα φύγουν μα θα ξανάρθουν

Την παλιά τους φωλιά για να ξανά βρουν.

 

Αγάπης φωλιά την ψυχή μας ας κάνουμε

Αγάπη να δώσουμε μα και να πάρουμε

Την καρδιά στους γύρω μας να την ανοίξουμε

Με χαρά και ευτυχία να τους γεμίσουμε.

The Swallows

The swallows are departing, as they do each year,

And as they vanish, so too goes our time so dear.

They will fly away, but soon they shall return,

Their cherished, faithful old nest they will discern.

 

Let's make our inner soul a loving place,

Where giving love brings joy and taking leaves its trace.

Our hearts we must open to those who stand near,

And fill their lives with happiness and happy cheer.

Christmas Story!

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair. It moved like a steady pendulum, carrying her thoughts far away, beyond the seas and the mountains. Her weary spirit abandoned her tired body and flew to foreign lands to find her only son, whom she had not seen...
