Χρησμός

Σαν περάσεις απ’ του Απόλλωνα το ιερό

για την Πάφο αριστερά

μην ξεχάσεις για να δεις την Αφροδίτη

να γεννιέται

Σταμάτα για ν’ αφουγκραστείς μούσες

να τραγουδάνε

στης θάλασσας τον φλοίσβο.

Μην κλείσεις τα μάτια ούτε στιγμή

γιατί εκ’ είναι που θα δεις

την αγάπη την μεγάλη που θα σ’ έρθει.

Oracle

As you travel past Apollo's fractured stone

toward Paphos, silvered on the left,

do not forget to witness Aphrodite's

first, salt-wet birth.

Anchor your breath and listen:

the Muses

spin song into the tide's colossal voice.

Do not shade your gaze,

not even for a heartbeat.

For here, precisely here, the vision blooms:

the great, inevitable love that is coming for you.

Christmas Story!

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair. It moved like a steady pendulum, carrying her thoughts far away, beyond the seas and the mountains. Her weary spirit abandoned her tired body and flew to foreign lands to find her only son, whom she had not seen...
