Καντάρα – Kantara Castle!

                                                                         Καντάρα 

Μεγαλόπρεπο κάστρο σε άγριο βράχο
ψηλά κτισμένο
σιωπηλά ατενίζει ακρογιάλια δαντέλα
χωμένα στο πράσινο,
χρυσοποίκιλτες αμμουδιές στο αιγιάλιο γαλάζιο
λουσμένες,
ιστορίας θησαυρό εκκλησάκια ερειπωμένα,
χωριουδάκια φτωχικά δέσμια της μοίρας τους
ανθρώπων λάθη πληρώνουν,
άψυχο κρανίο από μίσος πεταμένο
να αναζητάει τη λύτρωση.

Kantara Castle!

Kantara Castle, magnificent, high,

Perched on a rock where eagles fly.

It silently gazes on a coast,

A verdant, lace-edged, shimmering host.

Gilded beaches, bathed in blue,

With ancient ruins, weathered and true.

Poor villages pay for mistakes,

Captives of destiny's bitter aches.

A lifeless skull, thrown in a fit,

Cries for the peace it can't transmit.

Christmas Story!

Christmas Eve Night! A heavy Christmas Eve hung over the world. Outside, the cold cut like a knife through an eerie frost. Inside, the house was equally glacial—a silent freeze that seemed to have sucked all the warmth out of the hearth. An old woman sat alone in her carved wooden rocking chair by the window of the frost-rimed room. She held a family photograph, yellowed by time, clutched in her hands with a sacred intensity. A threadbare, tattered blanket struggled to keep even a flickering warmth within her frail, withered body. Beside her, a lamp blackened by soot and low on oil cast only a faint, yellowish whisper of light into the dense shadows. The old woman gazed with a vacant, unfocused look out the window, her head nodding rhythmically to the motion of the chair. It moved like a steady pendulum, carrying her thoughts far away, beyond the seas and the mountains. Her weary spirit abandoned her tired body and flew to foreign lands to find her only son, whom she had not seen...
